05 · About RARA AVIS
Luxury Sailing Yacht Rara Avis
The Luxury sailing yacht Rara Avis, built in 2018 and refitted in 2027, is moored in Croatia. The yacht has 6 cabins and can accommodate up to 12 guests.
Already recognized as one of Croatia’s most distinctive luxury sailing yachts, Rara Avis is being transformed for the next charter season through a major refit that creates a new, enlarged version of the yacht. Originally launched in 2018 Rara Avis has never been treated as a finished project. Year after year, she has been refined, upgraded, and improved by the owner and captain whose ambition has always been simple: to make her better with every season.
This latest refit is the most significant step in that journey so far. With her overall length extended by four meters to 37 m (121,4 ft), Rara Avis will become larger, more spacious, and even more focused on guest comfort. The aft deck is being lengthened to create a new separate sitting area, while the stern will feature an impressive 32 m² (344 ft²) 2-sided hydraulic folding platform designed as a multifunctional space for swimming, relaxing, boarding, and direct connection with the sea.
Based in Split, Croatia, Rara Avis is available for private charter along the Dalmatian coast and islands. She accommodates up to 12 guests in six elegant cabins and, following the refit, will be served by a crew of 7, including an additional hostess dedicated to providing an even more attentive and personalized level of service on board.
Rara Avis 2.0 Experience
The name Rara Avis comes from Latin and means “Rare Bird” - a fitting name for a yacht that stands apart by character, craftsmanship, and spirit. Crafted from modern, high-tech materials and finished with a handmade teak deck and elegant sails, Rara Avis combines the romance of sailing with the comfort of a contemporary luxury yacht. Her spaces are generous, refined, and designed around the rhythm of private charter life: long days at anchor, open-air dining, relaxed time on deck, evenings under the stars, and effortless movement between the yacht and the sea. Following her latest refit, guests will enjoy significantly expanded outdoor areas, especially at the stern. The new aft deck extension creates more space for socializing and relaxation, while the large 2-sided hydraulic folding platform becomes one of the yacht’s defining features. The platform brings guests directly to sea level, creating a spacious private terrace over the Adriatic - perfect for swimming, sunbathing, water sports, or simply enjoying the view from the edge of the sea. The new multifunctional gangway adds another layer of comfort and practicality. It allows guests to board and disembark from several directions and also provides elegant access to the water when the gangway is lowered directly into the sea. Every detail of this transformation has been guided by the same philosophy that has shaped Rara Avis since her first voyage: continuous improvement, greater comfort, and an even deeper connection between guests, yacht, crew, and the Adriatic.

Rara Avis accommodates up to 12 guests in six comfortable and beautifully appointed cabins, each designed to offer privacy, calm, and the feeling of a refined home at sea. 2 VIP Cabins: Two 18 m² cabins with a double bed and en-suite bathroom. 2 Double Cabins: Two 13 m² cabins with double beds and en-suite bathrooms. 2 Twin Cabins: Two 13 m² cabins with twin beds convertible into double beds, each with an en-suite bathroom.
All cabins are air conditioned and include private bathrooms with shower, toilet, hairdryer, toiletries, bath towels, and beach towels. Each cabin is equipped with TV, music system, Wi-Fi, safe box, intercom, wardrobe, 24 V / 220 V electricity, and room service.
Interior
The interior of Rara Avis is designed to feel elegant, spacious, and deeply comfortable. The main salon brings together a generous dining area, stylish bar, and lounge seating in one refined social space, creating an inviting atmosphere for relaxed evenings, indoor dining, or quiet moments away from the sun. The yacht is fully air conditioned throughout guest and crew areas, with separate crew quarters arranged to preserve privacy and ensure smooth service throughout the charter. The salon is equipped with TV, DVD, USB, Bluetooth audio system, Wi-Fi mobile internet connection, and a high-quality audio and video setup. Entertainment options include Nintendo and PlayStation 4, while the yacht’s sound system extends through the main social areas with eight speakers. The galley is fully equipped for high-level onboard service, with ovens, grill, refrigerators, deep freezers, ice makers, and espresso machine, allowing the crew to prepare fresh meals, drinks, and daily refreshments throughout the voyage.
Deck Areas
Life aboard Rara Avis is centered around her generous outdoor spaces, now made even larger through the latest 2027 refit. The extended aft deck will offer a more spacious and comfortable setting for open-air living, with a new separate sitting area designed for relaxed moments close to the sea. It is a natural gathering place throughout the day - for morning coffee, shaded conversations, sunset drinks, and alfresco dining with views of the Adriatic. At the stern, the new 32 m² hydraulic folding platform becomes one of the yacht’s most impressive features. More than a swimming platform, it is designed as a multifunctional sea terrace, creating additional space for guests to enjoy the water, relax at sea level, prepare for water sports, or simply spend time close to the Adriatic. The multifunctional gangway adds flexibility to the stern area, allowing boarding and disembarking from several directions while also serving as a practical and elegant way to enter the sea when lowered directly into the sea. The forward deck offers a comfortable seating area for enjoying the views, quiet moments, and the sense of sailing along the Croatian coast. Throughout the yacht, carefully designed deck lighting and underwater lights create a beautiful atmosphere in the evening.
Sundeck and Flybridge
The sundeck of Rara Avis is designed for long, relaxed days under the Adriatic sun. It features a large Jacuzzi surrounded by comfortable lounging space, sun mattresses, an outdoor shower, open bar, projector, and cinema screen for open-air movie evenings. Two seating areas with coffee tables provide additional places to gather, enjoy a drink, or simply take in the surrounding sea and islands. The sundeck combines comfort, entertainment, and panoramic views, offering guests a space for sunbathing, relaxing, socializing, and enjoying the yacht from morning until night.
Tender
Rara Avis carries a powerful Grand 850 Golden Line tender, measuring 8.50 meters and equipped with twin 200 HP Yamaha engines. Rated for up to 14 persons, the tender allows comfortable transfers, shore visits, exploration of hidden bays, and quick access to destinations along the coast and islands.
Crew and Service
What makes Rara Avis truly special is not only her design, size, or equipment, but the people behind the experience. Following the refit, Rara Avis will welcome guests with a dedicated crew of 7 experienced professionals. The addition of a new hostess further elevates the level of service on board, allowing the crew to respond even more closely to guests’ needs throughout the charter. Professional, warm, and attentive, the crew takes care of every detail - from daily service and onboard hospitality to local recommendations, itinerary suggestions, meals, water activities, and the small touches that make a journey feel personal. Their knowledge of the Croatian coast, combined with a genuine passion for hospitality, allows guests to experience the Adriatic with comfort, ease, and a strong sense of place.
A New Rara Avis
Since her first voyage in 2018, Rara Avis has continued to evolve. Each season has brought new improvements, thoughtful upgrades, and careful attention to detail. This constant desire to refine the yacht reflects the owner and captain’s personal dedication to creating the best possible charter experience. The latest refit carries that philosophy further than ever before. By extending the yacht, enlarging the aft deck, creating a 32 m² hydraulic folding stern platform, adding a multifunctional gangway, and increasing the crew to 7, Rara Avis is becoming more spacious, more versatile, and more guest-focused. She remains true to everything that made her admired from the beginning - her elegance, warmth, sailing character, and Croatian soul, but now offers a new level of comfort and freedom at sea. Rara Avis is not simply being upgraded. She is being renewed into a larger, more refined, and more complete version of herself. Longer, more spacious, and thoughtfully upgraded, Rara Avis enters the next season as one of the most exciting luxury sailing yachts available for private charter in Croatia. With expanded outdoor living areas, a spectacular new stern platform, enhanced service, and a crew deeply committed to every guest experience, she offers a rare combination of sailing tradition, modern comfort, and effortless Adriatic living. Rara Avis is made for those who want more than a beautiful yacht. She is made for those who want space, privacy, service, sea, and a journey shaped with care. Welcome to Rara Avis 2.0.
